Craft brewers sold an estimated $14.3 billion in beer in 2013, according to the Brewers Association, up from 20% over $11.9 billion in 2012. Brewers produced nearly 8% more craft beer last year than in 2012, the trade group says.
Overall, craft beer's share of the total U.S. beer market grew to more than 14%; it accounted for about 10% of the nearly $100 billion in beer sales in 2012, the association says.
"In 2013, craft breweries reached new all-time highs in production volume and dollar sales," said the assocation's staff economist Bart Watson in a statement. "Beer lovers continue to demand high-quality, fuller-flavored and local beers from small and independent craft breweries."

But its current valuationt trades at 31 times earningsakes me pause. At that price, you are implicitly expecting one of two things to happen:
The American whiskey boom continues unabated for yearsnd isn replaced by something new and trendy. Brown-Forman will be acquired by a larger competitor (think Diageo or Pernod-Ricard (PDRDY)).The first assumption is one I be hesitant to make given the whims of fashion. And the second is even less likely. Brown-Forman is family controlled, and in the past the company has very adamant about preserving its independence.
